Sto sostituendo le schede di rete dalle vecchie 10Mb cavo RG58 con le
nuove 100Mb cavo UTP.

Sulla macchina di lavoro non riesco a farla andare.

Il comportamento e' il seguente:

vecchia scheda 10 Mb:

/etc/network/interfaces
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
        address 10.0.0.1
        netmask 255.255.255.0
        network 10.0.0.0
        broadcast 10.0.0.255
        # dns-* options are implemented by the resolvconf package, if installed
        dns-search loc

/etc/networks
localnet 10.0.0.0

uno:/home/dan# ifconfig
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:00:21:E1:7E:5C
          inet addr:10.0.0.1 Bcast:10.0.0.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:6 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:6 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
          RX bytes:512 (512.0 b) TX bytes:512 (512.0 b)
          Interrupt:11 Base address:0xdf80

/var/log/dmesg
eth0: RealTek RTL-8029 found at 0xdf80, IRQ 11, 00:00:21:E1:7E:5C.

E tutto funziona regolarmente
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Sostituisco la scheda con la Intel chipset SB82558B full duplex 100Mb

uno:/home/dan# ping 10.0.0.2
PING 10.0.0.2 (10.0.0.2) 56(84) bytes of data.
>From 10.0.0.1 icmp_seq=1 Destination Host Unreachable
>From 10.0.0.1 icmp_seq=2 Destination Host Unreachable

--- 10.0.0.2 ping statistics ---
18 packets transmitted, 0 received, +9 errors, 100% packet loss, time 17023ms
, pipe 4

uno:/home/dan# ifconfig
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:50:8B:0C:76:63
          inet addr:10.0.0.1 Bcast:10.0.0.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:2 errors:29 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:29
          TX packets:46 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
          RX bytes:120 (120.0 b) TX bytes:3668 (3.5 KiB)
          Interrupt:11 Base address:0xdf80 Memory:f43ff000-f43ff038

qui mi pare strano quel TX packets:46 error:0

/var/log/dmesg
e100: eth0: Intel(R) PRO/100 Network Connection

strano non vedere l' assegnazione delle risorse

pero' in realta' interrupt ed indirizzi IO sono assegnati

/proc/interrupts
11: 55 XT-PIC usb-uhci, bttv, btaudio, eth0

/proc/ioports
df80-df9f : Intel Corp. 82557/8/9 [Ethernet Pro 100]
  df80-df9f : e100

se stacco la connessione dallo switch la segnalazione pare corretta:

/var/log/ker.log
Apr 25 19:58:09 uno kernel: e100: eth0 NIC Link is Down
Apr 25 19:58:43 uno kernel: e100: eth0 NIC Link is Up 100 Mbps Full duplex
Apr 25 19:59:53 uno kernel: e100: eth0 NIC Link is Down
Apr 25 20:00:01 uno kernel: e100: eth0 NIC Link is Up 100 Mbps Full duplex
Apr 25 20:00:13 uno kernel: e100: eth0 NIC Link is Down
Apr 25 20:00:17 uno kernel: e100: eth0 NIC Link is Up 100 Mbps Full duplex

Che diavolo succede?
E' una scheda stramba?
Cambia qualcosa quel full duplex?
Potete aiutarmi? Non so piu' dove sbattere.
Grazie
