[Linux-Biella] HDPARM settaggi, non ho neppure il DMA attivo

allora..
leggendo qua e là ho trovato che c'erano opzioni abbastanza sicure da
provare...

cioè queste:

- -m16: set multiple sector mode to 16.

- -c3: set 32-bit I/O support with snyc.

- -u1: set interrupt unmask.

- -d1: enable dma.


allora da root ho dato il comando:

# hdparm -m16 -c3 -u1 -d1 /dev/hda

/dev/hda:
 setting 32-bit IO_support flag to 3
 setting multcount to 16
 setting unmaskirq to 1 (on)
 setting using_dma to 1 (on)
 HDIO_SET_DMA failed: Operation not permitted  <------- notate?
 multcount    = 16 (on)
 IO_support   =  3 (32-bit w/sync)
 unmaskirq    =  1 (on)
 using_dma    =  0 (off)

e infatti...

# hdparm /dev/hda

/dev/hda:
 multcount    = 16 (on)
 IO_support   =  3 (32-bit w/sync)
 unmaskirq    =  1 (on)
 using_dma    =  0 (off)
 keepsettings =  0 (off)
 readonly     =  0 (off)
 readahead    = 256 (on)
 geometry     = 16383/255/63, sectors = 156301488, start = 0


che significa????
non posso avere il DMA???
